Teen Trauma Education Groups

Empowered Teen Trauma Group

The group is an online, 12-week open-ended group for African American youth males aged 14 – 21. The youth will learn about the history of trauma in the African American community and how untreated trauma can impact the next generation. The group goals are to educate, reflect, problem solve, and develop a plan of action.

Currently the groups are offered through:

Anoka County Juvenile Probation (Anoka County Probation Youth)

- Group Times: Wednesday 4:30 pm- 5:30 pm

Urban Venture Nehemiah program (Hennepin County Probation)

- Group Times: Tuesday 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

At the end of the group, the youth will receive a certificate of completion and a t-shirt to remind them that trauma recovery is empowering in action

This group helped me understand my anger and sadness. My plan helped me figure out who can help me.
